Curriculum Overview
At St Aloysius, our curriculum is rooted in Gospel values and shaped by the belief that every child is made in the image of God. We seek to provide an education that nurtures the whole person – academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally – so that each pupil can grow in knowledge, faith and character.
We are proud to serve a diverse and international community. Many of our pupils come from across the world and this rich cultural mix is a source of strength within our school family. Our curriculum celebrates this diversity by encouraging children to share their own stories and traditions, while also deepening their understanding of Britain’s heritage and global connections.
Through a broad and balanced curriculum, we inspire curiosity, creativity and a love of learning. We encourage pupils to value their own God-given gifts, to respect the uniqueness of others, and to consider how they can use their talents to contribute to the common good. Wherever possible, learning is enriched by making meaningful links with our international families and their cultural heritage, helping children to see themselves as both local citizens of Oxford and global citizens of the world.
Our curriculum not only fulfils the requirements of the National Curriculum but also reflects our Catholic ethos. Daily prayer, worship and
opportunities for reflection help pupils to place Christ at the centre of their lives. By linking faith and learning across subjects, we enable children to develop a moral awareness rooted in justice, compassion and stewardship of God’s creation. By the time they leave our school, we hope our pupils will be confident, compassionate and resilient young people — proud of their own heritage, enriched by their international friendships, and ready to make a positive difference both in their local community and across the wider world.
